The Carrie Furnace complex, a National Historic Landmark, is one of the last standing blast furnaces in the Pittsburgh region and the only one open for tours. The heart and soul of the U.S. Steel's Homestead Works, this tour includes the entire steel-making process including visits to the Ore Yard, Cast House, Hot Stoves, Torpedo Car, famous "Deer Head" sculpture and much more! Cost: Payment required - Tours are $25 per person. Groups of 10 or more can receive a discount rate. Current and Retired steelworkers receive a 20% discount with proper credentials. Active duty and retired members of the military are free and up to 5 immediate family members will receive a 50% off discount. On June 16 all fathers are free with two paying accompanying family members or friends.
