The Welcome Collective presents Ruth E. Cockburn in Blackpool

'Plain and simple she's just funny' - Terry Alderton   Join us for an evening of laughs, celebration and storytelling with Blackpool’s very own Ruth E Cockburn. See an award nominated comedian right here in your neighbourhood.   The show will run 7pm – 8pm with a fun raffle at the end - free ticket upon entry.   Doors open at 6:30pm. This venue has unallocated seating.   Suitable for age 14 years and over.   Free tea and coffee will be available, and sweets provided by Original Taste (for a small fee).   Priority booking to people who live, work or have children who go to school in the FY4 postcode.   Please note that there is no parking at the community centre, please park on Vicarage Lane.   For disabled access, please get in touch on 01253 477973.   About the show:   Ruth will be performing a mix of two of her hit shows -   Love Letters from Blackpool is about love and Blackpool. It uses found love letters, storytelling, song and recorded interviews to tell the story of love in our sea side town. Nominated for Best New Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2018 and Top 10 Shows to See at Edinburgh Fringe 2018 it is one not to miss.   Knees Bent Bras Off Ra Ra Ra is an invite to a family party. Like all family parties there are weird traditions, songs, games and drama. You will hear family secrets, sing along to songs and learn new traditions to take home and try at your own family parties.   About Ruth:   Ruth grew up in Blackpool, and in her mind, it made her the person and performer that she is today. Ruth has performed in venues all over the country from the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe, National Theatre, The Comedy Store, Shakespeare’s Globe, right through to working men’s clubs in Wigan and community centres in Cumbria. She’s done them all and is now coming to Flakefleet with her acclaimed show to tell some stories she’s found along the way.   In order to fund our work, we need to collect data so we can show our funders who comes to our events and what they thought of them. We want to be able to continue to make a difference in Blackpool and Wyre so we need to ask you some questions, it should only take a minute. We will give you a survey at the event for you to complete (and be in with a chance to win a prize) to find out what you thought. We would be very grateful if you can complete this so we can demonstrate to our funders why it is beneficial to continue to support us. Please be assured we will treat your information safely and securely and we will never pass it onto anyone else unless you tell us we can.
