      Best Practices: Math with Tech

Best Practices: Math with Tech Website: bit.ly/mathwithtech Find yourself teaching middle/high school math in our digital world? Why not let Stefan and Craig help guide you in the right direction.  This day long workshop is designed to help attendees think about best practices when mixing math and technology together. Presenters will walk through a series of different math activities/challenges (ranging from content areas - algebra, geometry, data collection, etc). Attendees will actually complete tasks together as students would in class. Then, the presenters will help take the mystery out of how the activity was created from start to finish. Many times, educators might find a great lesson or an idea to use in class, however it might take him/her too much time to determine how a similar task could be completed/tweaked to meet their students needs. We hope each attendee can leave with something they can use in their classroom. This session will truly be a hands on workshop. We plan to highlight the following tools through the planned activities: G-Suite applications and chrome extensions Desmos - calculator and activity builder EquatIO and Mathspace - producing math online Geogebra  Screencasting and Flipgrid - video reflection tools Let’s Math together with the support of tech!  #mathwithtech NOTE: The focus of this workshop is middle/high school math. You must bring a chromebook or a laptop for this workshop. We strongly encourage all participants to have the chrome web browser on their device as well as this is the brower we will use to complete activities. G-Suite and Google Classroom will be used throughout the day. Thus, having a Google account is highly recommended. Tablets and mobile phones are not encouraged as they will not work for all activities. However, they might come in handy as a reference tool.
