THE PRINCESS BRIDE - Asheville Brewing Co. 20th Anniversary Celebration!

TICKET UPDATE --- We are almost sold out of online tickets for Wednesday's show.  However, there are still about 23 tickets available at the Main Bar of our Merrimon Avenue location as of Saturday, March 10th at 10:00am.   The Thursday, March 15th show is completely SOLD OUT. Asheville Brewing Company is 20 years old on March 15th!  So, part of our Anniversary celebration is showing one of our fans' favorite, most beloved movies of all time...  THE PRINCESS BRIDE! Showing "The Princess Bride" has become an annual tradition for us at our dine-in movie theater on Merrimon Avenue which is also the original location of the brewery (now Downtown).  This incredibly charming and delightful film has fans across every generation.   Many families come every year to share in the experience of seeing Wesley and Buttercup fight against all odds to find true love with each other.  To see this classic on the big screen in a dark theater with 150 other fans is a rare treat. WARNING!!!  Both screenings will definitely sell out far in advance of the show dates.  People make the mistake every year of waiting too late to buy their tickets.  Don't be that person! MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Adapted by William Goldman from his 1973 novel of the same name, it tells the story of a farmhand named Westley (Cary Elwes), accompanied by befriended companions along the way, who must rescue his true love Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) from the odious Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon). The film effectively preserves the novel's narrative style by presenting the story as a book being read by a grandfather (Peter Falk) to his sick grandson (Fred Savage).  The film is directed and co-produced by Rob Reiner, and also stars Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn, André the Giant, Carol Kane, Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest. CONTENT GUIDELINE -- Rated PG for mild violence such as death by sword fighting and poison, and also for mild language with "son of a bitch" and "Jesus!" each spoken once. Watch this fantastic film in Asheville's original dine-in theater. There are tables in front of our big, cushy theater seats. Order dinner from our huge diverse menu (vegan options!), and enjoy this rare cinematic experience with 140+ other fans of this film. Also, enjoy a huge selection some of the best local beer from the third oldest brewery in WNC! FAQs What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is plenty of parking in front of the building, on each side, and also in a big parking lot behind the building. All parking is free. Asheville Pizza & Brewing on Merrimon Avenue is very easy to find. Only five minutes from I-26, I-240 and Downtown. Should I arrive early? ABSOLUTELY!!!  We strongly suggest you arrive at least 30 minutes early so you can order and get settled into your seat before the movie starts. Can I order food and beverages inside the theater? Yes!  You can order anything from the diverse menu of Asheville Pizza & Brewing and drink any of Asheville Brewing Company's delicious beers!  The menu has pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads, quesadillas, vegan options and more!  The full menu can be found on our website.   Is there any pre-show entertainment? Doors usually open one hour prior to the showtime with a pre-show collection of unique and funny videos playing before the movie begins. Regulars to our theater always arrive extra early to enjoy our pre-show which changes with each movie. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Email us at if you have any questions. Please do not call our location as the staff who answers will likely not be able to know the answer.  Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? It isn't necessary.  After you purchase your ticket we will have your name on a list when you arrive, so we really only need the name the tickets were purchased with.  You can also show us the email purchase confirmation on your phone, but you can bring in a printed ticket if you prefer.  Please check in at the ticket counter at least 20 minutes before showtime to find a good seat. We expect a sellout.  Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes, just make sure they check in with whatever name the tickets were purchased under.
