Different Strokes PAC presents "Alabama Story"

Different Strokes Performing Arts Collective opens its 18th season with Kenneth Jones’ "Alabama Story," directed by Stephanie Hickling Beckman, running February 8-24 at The BeBe Theatre, with performances Thursday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. Based on the true story of a senator attempting to have a children’s book called "The Rabbits’ Wedding" removed from his state’s libraries in 1959 on the grounds that it promoted interracial marriage, "Alabama Story" tackles issues of censorship, racism and “sepia-toned” leadership. Tickets are $18 in advance and $21 at the door, with $15 advance tickets for opening weekend. Audience talk-back sessions follow Friday and Saturday performances.

Cost: $18 in advance, $21 at the door. Advance tickets for opening weekend are $15.
