      2019 Parent Leadership Conference

The annual Parent Leadership Conference will be held November 15-16, 2019 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka, Kansas. This free event will include breakout sessions, speakers, childcare and more. This year’s conference will feature keynote speaker Pete Ferguson.  Pete Ferguson has spent nearly 25 years working as a people empowerment specialist, non-profit executive, program coordinator, experienced organizer and community stakeholder.  Ferguson has made substantial contributions to the development of numerous successful programs including youth and adult leadership development, diversity & inclusion, cultural proficiency, and personal and professional relationship and development.  Within each presentation, audience members are inspired, educated and entertained.  His interactive presentations challenge participants and provide immediate and long-term takeaways contributing to a personal and collective blueprint through self-evaluation and reflection. Saturday's keynote is Gian Paul Gonzalez, a high school teacher from Union City, New Jersey. Prior to the Giant’s Christmas Eve game with the NY Jets, Gonzalez delivered the now famous “ALL IN” rally cry message during the Giants’ chapel service and is now widely recognized as having inspired the New York Giants to their Super Bowl victory. He was featured on ESPN on Super Bowl Sunday, and has had notable appearances on Fox News, ABC and CNN. He has traveled across the nation as a motivational speaker for the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers, to the Army Cadets at West Point, United States Air Force, Anheuser-Busch, Sam’s Club, as well as many other corporate, athletic, government agencies, and educational institutions. Free childcare (for conference participants only) is available for ages 6 months-18 years old if pre-registered.  Teens 13 and older can attend workshop sessions and activities geared toward transitioning from high school to adulthood. This is a group childcare setting; if your child needs one on one care please make other arrangements. A limited number of hotel rooms will be available to those who live outside 50 mile radius of Topeka. Registration is on a first come/first served basis.
