The Story Behind Herman, the Museum Mastodon

Who is Herman and how did he get to the Museum? Tour the Florida’s First People exhibit to learn his story, who discovered him in Wakulla Springs, and how they knew what he was. Test your research skills identifying objects and spotting the differences between mastodons and mammoths. Then make your own paper mastodon.

Join us at the Museum of Florida History on the second Saturday of each month for our 2nd Saturday Family Programs. Experience hands-on history for every member of the family.

The program, admission, and parking are free.
