Bears in the Know Luncheon Series - Ensuring Relevance, Responsiveness and Accessibility

At the 2017 Global Summit on Graduate Education, there were common themes that characterize graduate programs that are successful now and will continue to be in the future. Graduate education should promote interdisciplinary and collaborative learning at all levels. Certificate programs for specific technical training and professional development to emphasize soft skills are necessary.  Academic disciplines must work more closely with industry employers to ensure optimal development of workforce talent. University culture should ensure optimal access to graduate education through personalized, flexible and interactive curricula.

Dr. Julie Masterson, Missouri State University Graduate College dean, and Dr. Gerald Masterson, Missouri State University program director of graduate interdisciplinary programs, will discuss strategies the MSU Graduate College and Graduate Interdisciplinary programs are using to ensure the above mentioned features are being addressed in graduate programming for both domestic and international students.

The luncheon will be held in the Turner Family Hospitality Room on the first floor of the Kenneth E. Meyer Alumni Center. Complimentary parking is available in the attached garage off of McDaniel Street. Feel free to arrive any time after 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at approximately 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at noon.

The Missouri State University Foundation is excited to host the Bears in the Know Luncheon Series. Thank you to Arvest, our presenting sponsor.
