      Children's Environmental Health Summit 2019

      The Kentucky Department for Public Health in collaboration with the Kentucky Population Health Institute, is hosting the Fourth Annual Children’s Environmental Health Summit on Thursday, October 10, 2019 (National Children's Environmental Health Day). The brief agenda is below.  This Environmental Summit is funded through EnviroHealthLink, Kentucky’s Environmental Public Health Tracking Network.  WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The target audience includes: decision/policy makers, administrators, teachers, childcare personnel, pediatricians, nurses, academia, environmental educators and providers, community health workers, and state and local public health staff who help assure a safe school, home, play, preschool and community environment for children.  Possible topics that will be covered include adverse childhood events, JUUL and other POD systems, lead, child safety, preparedness, nutrition, prenatal exposure, asthma, rural health, healthy homes, built environment, green and healthy schools and community engagement, health equity, and more!    Tickets are free, however, if your plans change and you can't attend the conference please let us know or your agency will be billed to cover costs associated with the conference. This event is pending approval for Continuing Education Credits: Registered Sanitarians- pending 5.5 hours Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)-pending 6 hours Nursing Contact Hours -pending 7.2 hours Certificate of Attendance-can be provided by request for participant When registering, please select the ticket type based on CE credits for your profession (1 person will choose 1 for the credit type, NOT the number of credits you want to receive) or select ENV Summit - no CE if this does not apply.   GROUP HOTEL: Should you require overnight accommodations, there is a hotel next to the Center for Rural Development.  Please utilize to look at available options.   AGENDA: The Planning Committee is Working on the Agenda
