Texoma Patriots 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

It was 10 years ago that the tea  party movement started.  Members of our community met at the Grayson County Courthouse north entrance on April 15 to tell our government that we were tired of being taxed too much - thus, Taxed Enough Already.  And so began the T.E.A. Party movement locally. We have planned a fun event with patriotic music, a few speeches, getting together with our friends and neighbors, and sharing our true love for America. WHEN:  August 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. WHERE:  Grayson County Courthouse north steps in Sherman TX  WHAT:  A celebration of what citizens can do when they work together WHO:  You, your family, friends, neighbors - everyone is welcome! WHY:  Because America is worth fighting for What do we believe in?   We believe in the United States of America and what she stands for.   We believe in the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.   Our goals are to preserve Limited Government, to promote Fiscal and Personal Responsibility, to follow the Rule of Law, and to protect our National Sovereignty.  How it all began:  On February 19, 2009, Rick Santelli’s famous rant sparked a movement that changed the course of America.  Our story — the TEA Party movement’s story — began with frustration over the bank bailouts in 2008.  The outrage boiled over as former President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress quickly rammed their “stimulus” bill through both chambers, despite a massive surge of opposition from the American public.  Santelli verbalized what we were all thinking and saying to our friends and families at the time.  The next day, 22 conservatives got on a conference call to organize the first round of tea parties that were held all over the country on February 27, 2009.  The rest is history. Our History:  The Texoma Patriots held its first meeting on August 22nd 2009 in Sherman.  It was a patriotic rally to show our support for Representative Ralph Hall.  We supported his stand on HR 3200 and expressed our opposition to the proposed healthcare reform bill that led to Obamacare, a government-run healthcare system.  And the work continues! Please stand with us today and with all the rest of the patriots who stood together over the last ten years.  Now, more than ever, we need your help going forward to stop the drive toward socialism.  America must remain free!
