2019 Santa Fe Retreat with Anam Thubten June 21 - June 23, 2019

Santa Fe Dharmata hosts Anam Thubten June 21 - 23, 2019. There are three important aspects of meditation:  mindful attention, open awareness, and loving kindness.  By practicing these we can let go of negative mental patterns  and expand our heart and mind, bringing about joy, peace, and inner freedom.  Anam Thubten will teach and guide participants in developing these three aspects of meditation and share Buddhist wisdom on working with our thoughts and emotions. EVENTS: Friday Evening Public Talk: June 21, 7-9 pm (Suggested donation $15) Please note there are two options for the public talk:  you can either donate $15 online or use the free ticket and if you wish, donate at the event. There usually is an opportunity to greet Anam Thubten at the end of the public talk.  Please register separately for the Friday night public talk. Weekend Nonresidential Retreat (Does not include Friday Public Talk):Sat. & Sun. June 21 - June 23,  10am-12:30 pm & 2:30 pm-5 pm - $165.   Online preregistration registration is required as there is limited space at the Womans Club.   Weekend (Sat. & Sun. ) Attendance commitment Anam Thubten has requested everyone attend the entire two day retreat (Sat. & Sun.).   We ask that you make a commitment to participate in the full retreat from beginning to end. There are a couple of reasons why this is important. A retreat can have many twists and turns, with various experiences: some joyful, some difficult, some pleasant, some unpleasant, depending on our own inner process. However, the retreat is a process of transformation. So everyone is asked to make a sacred commitment to stay for the whole retreat, even when it is difficult, trusting in this process. Once a retreat begins, a sacred container is formed, made up of each person's good intentions to be fully present. Leaving the retreat before it is complete energetically breaks that sacred container for oneself and others. Our mutual presence supports each other. Thank you so much for contemplating this commitment and what it means for you and for your fellow participants. If you are unable to attend the full retreat, please contact the Retreat Coordinator at SantaFe@dharmata.org. Retreat Schedule The weekend (Sat. & Sun.) non-residential retreat is from 10 am - 5 pm each day with a two hour break for lunch. The retreat includes periods of meditation and teachings, all held in an atmosphere of inner contemplation. Preregistration is required.  Registration will remain open until we reach capacity. Early registration is recommended to guarantee a space. Retreat fees are listed above. Full refunds are available until June 15, 2019 (less a $20 adninistration fee).   For financial aid information, see below.
