      DOCUMENTARY SCREENING AT STUDIO C IN OKEMOS

      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Okemos, MI, Several area faith communities will be partnering to present a screening of the National Geographic documentary, Paris to Pittsburgh. This screening will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening, October 29, at Studio C Theaters in Okemos. Following the screening, the Rev. Dr. John Schleicher, President of Michigan Interfaith Power and Light, and Leah Wiste,
      Executive Director of Michigan Interfaith Power and Light, will host a conversation about the movie.
      Paris to Pittsburg brings to life the impassioned efforts of individuals who are battling the most severe threats of climate change in their own backyards. Set against the national debate over the United States’ energy future, the film captures what’s at stake for communities around the country and the inspiring ways Americans are responding.       Spotlighting the cities, states, businesses and citizens taking action, Paris to Pittsburgh explores the very real social and economic impacts of climate change-fueled disasters, from America’s heartland to the nation’s coastlines. The film features voices from local leaders as well as everyday Americans presenting the stories behind climate-related recovery and resiliency. It also features various tireless innovative efforts to reduce carbon emissions in boomtowns like Pittsburgh which formerly relied heavily on coal. Pittsburgh is now a city committed to energy efficiency and is one of the many examples of bold economic, climate leadership. Other locations featured in the film include Puerto Rico, California, Iowa, Florida and New Jersey.
      Paris to Pittsburgh is produced by the Academy Award and Emmy-winning production company RadicalMedia, in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies. The film is directed by Emmy Award winner Sidney Beaumont and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Bonfiglio.
      This screening is made possible by Interfaith Power and Light, and the cooperative sponsorship of the following area faith communities: Williamston United Methodist Church, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, University Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church, Haslett Community Church, Okemos Presbyterian Church, The Islamic Center in East Lansing, and Faith Lutheran Church in Okemos.
