      Alternative Provision Conference - 'Progressive Change in Alternative Provision'

      Passionate about education and young people? Come along to our Alternative Provision Conference - 'Progressive Change' this coming November! The conference will focus on the benefits of alternative provision and discuss progressive change. Guest speakers confirmed so far... We are delighted to announce we will be joined this year by Sarah Dove, from Phoenix Education Consultancy. Sarah has over 15 years in strategic educational roles across pupil referral units, alternative provision, specialist resource provisions, psychiatric in-patient services, hospital education, care homes and secure settings. We will also be joined by Kiran Gill from The Difference. Kiran started her career teaching in inner-city secondary schools, specialising in teacher training and improving literacy teaching across the curriculum. Her published research focuses on poverty, social mobility and the evolution of the school led system in England.  The conference will address: Achieving alternative provision excellence across the sector Effective models of school and provider relationships Increase in 14-16 year olds being excluded from mainstream schools Rise in the number of home-educated students being removed from schools by parents Sustainable, suitable transition to post-16 training or employment The conference will include inspirational talks by qualified and experienced professionals, networking and short workshops. Teas, coffees and refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Unfortunately, the Cathedral are unable to provide parking for our visitors. However, there are lots of public transport links around the Cathedral and over four car parks within a short distance. If you are taking the train the Cathedral is only a fifteen minute walk from the station. The Cathedral is in the city centre and can be accessed easily.    What's the refund policy? Refunds and cancellations can be given up to 7 days before the main event.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? There is no need for your ticket to be printed, but please ensure that you use the signing in desks when you enter the Cathedral for health and safety purposes.    Can I update my registration information? You can do this where necessary before the event.    Is it OK if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? This should not matter but if possible please ensure to contact the Organiser within three days of the event so that all necessary changes such as dietary requirements can be made.    How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
