      Learn to Make Sudanese Sambusas and Smoked Tea

      Join Sanctuary Kitchen for a Sudanese cooking class with Salma, a recent immigrant, and Amna, a resettled refugee. Enjoy a unique hands-on cooking experience making Sambusa - a savory pastry filled with meat or vegetables - and shay mubakhar - traditional tea smoked with aromatics. Get to know Salma and Amna,  learn about their culinary background and inspirations,  gain insight into their immigrant and refugee experience.  All participants will receive copies of the recipes! Class size is limited to 15 people.   The Kitchen at CitySeed is located in the CitySeed office at 817 Grand Ave -- two blocks from State St and downtown New Haven.
