      Wharton and Cather Short Stories

Professional actors bring classic short stories to life! Enjoy summer afternoons on The Mount’s view-rich Terrace while listening to professional actors read short stories written by Edith Wharton and Willa Cather.  Both Wharton and Cather were prolific short story writers in addition to well-loved novelists. Their contemporaneous and parallel explorations reveal a shared importance of literary and geographic place.  Gardens are open for strolling. Wine and other light refreshments are available for purchase. The readings begin at 5 pm on the Terrace. Schedule of Stories and Readers coming soon! This series is sponsored by Berkshire Magazine. Berkshire Magazine tells the stories and reflects the natural allure of our region, exploring the arts, the homes, the cultural treasures and the attractions with a local authoritative voice. The Mount is a Massachusetts Cultural Council UP designated organization welcoming participants of all disabilities. Please contact 413-551-5100 or by email, info@edithwharton.org, to discuss accommodations needed to participate fully in this event. Caregivers are admitted free-of-charge.
