In helping to incubate artists as we do other entrepreneurs, CREATE Lafayette is working with community partners in hosting the CREATE Opportunity Series to match training with opportunities across a variety of industries over time. For the first series, music is the focus in preparation for showcasing and booking opportunities available to our local musicians in 2020 through the Folk Alliance Conference in New Orleans, January 21-25 and LIME, the Louisiana International Music Exchange, during Festival International. At the end of the series, musicians will have learned a variety of topics led by Scott Durbin of the University of Louisiana Music Business program in order to improve reach, finances, distribution, professionalism and navigating the music industry. The series is designed as a class curriculum and participation for the whole series will generate the most success.
