      IBPSA-USA Wisconsin Chapter Event: Chilled Water - Thermal Battery at Trane

      IBPSA – Wisconsin chapter invites you to will participate in a tour of the Trane® centrifugal chiller manufacturing plant and view an ice storage configuration used on the site.  The presentation will cover design and control considerations that should be taken into account for energy modeling of ice storage/thermal battery plants.   Date:                November 14th 2019 Time:                Tour begins at 5:30pm; presentation and hors d’oeuvers 6:15pm – 7pm. Place:              Plant 7, 2600 Losey Blvd South, La Crosse, WI 54601 Speaker:          Susanna Hanson, HVAC Systems Development Engineer, Trane Security:          Visitors will be given a security badge that they must wear at all times while in Trane facilities.  They will be required to turn in the visitor badge when they leave.  No cameras are permitted in any Trane facilities. Safety:             Visitors will receive a pair of protective eyewear with side shields, which they must wear while in the Trane plant.  Hearing protection is mandatory and will also be provided.  You will also be expected to wear hard hats and steel toed shoes that will be provided prior to entering any facility. Footwear:         Because the visit is in a manufacturing plant, visitors must wear low (i.e. no high heels), hard-soled shoes without open toes, (no sandals). Soft-toed footwear, such as tennis shoes or jogging shoes, is not permitted. Those not wearing appropriate footwear will not be allowed on the plant tour.  Steel toed safety shoes are preferred; otherwise we will provide a steel toed overshoe.  If we cannot accommodate your footwear with steel toed protection we cannot permit access into our manufacturing facilities. Professional:    Please be considerate of the IBPSA-Wisconsin chapter group and follow all facility/campus safety guidelines and rules wearing appropriate attire and covet professional behavior. Speaker Bio:      Susanna is an applications engineer at Trane with over 17 years of experience with chilled-water systems and HVAC building load and energy analysis. Her primary responsibility is to aid system design engineers and Trane personnel in the proper design and application of HVAC systems. Her main areas of expertise include chilled-water systems and ASHRAE Standard 90.1. She is also a Certified Energy Manager. Susanna has authored several articles, manuals and system catalogs on chilled-water plant design, and is a member of ASHRAE SSPC 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. Susanna earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Florida, where she focused on building energy management and simulation.
