      Sisters of Second 2019 Women’s Conference

      Sisters of Second  2019 Women’s Conference Weekend “Fabulous, Faithful, and Forgiven!” November 15th,16th, & 17th You are invited to join the women of Second Missionary Baptist Church for an exciting time of fellowship, faith-building, and refreshment at the 2019 Sisters of Second Women’s Conference on Saturday November 16th 9am-3pm. There is a track for adults 19 years and up as well as a track for youth 13-18 years of age. Passionate presenters for adults and youth will share resources and practical life application approaches. A dynamic panel of persistently praying women will lead a discussion about prayer and we will conclude with prayer for every woman.  Included in the cost of registration is the Fellowship & Fun Night on Friday November 15th 6-8pm. The 8am & 11am worship services on Sunday November 17th are open to the public with the women of SMBC taking on active roles in worship and the Sisters of Second Choir ministering through song.   On Friday and Saturday, there will be a variety of retail vendors, information resourcebooths, door prizes, and of course delicious food. Each member of the conference planning committee has worked diligently to prepare a wonderful weekend just for you. Join us as we explore what it means to be a “Fabulous, Faithful and Forgiven” woman. The workshop topics are listed below: Adult Track Workshop 1 “Finding Your Fab-u-lous: Your Identity in Christ” Megan Baldwin During this workshop, participants will: • Explore scriptures about the identity of a follower of Christ • Discuss the importance of knowing who you are in Christ • Reflect on the question: “What makes you fabulou?” Workshop 2 “When a Woman Walks by Faith...” Glennschella Taylor During this workshop participants will: • Explore scriptures about faith • Discuss what it means to grow in faith  • Reflect on the question: “What are some signs that I am growing in my faith? Workshop 3 “Living My Best Life: Receiving God’s Forgiveness and Forgiving Others” Pastor Sharon Reed During this workshop, participants will: • Explore the biblical principle of forgiveness  • Discuss the meaning and value of true forgiveness  • Reflect on embracing God’s forgiveness and extending forgiveness to others “A Praying Woman Panel Discussion” Attendees will explore scriptures that describe the importance of prayer in a Christian’s life.Attendees will identify tools that may be useful in further developing a prayer life.Attendees will discuss approaches to help younger generations continue the practice of prayer. Youth Track Workshop 1 “Fabulous You” With Co-presenters Calah U. Oglesby​ & Jasmine N. Vincent Participants will:   • Explore scriptures about the value of being unique and loving yourself. • Identify personal characteristics that make a person unique and how those characteristics help them and others. • Discuss what it means to “love yourself” • Discuss how loving yourself affects choices that we make in our relationships with others Workshop 2  “#SLAY: Faith & Your Career” Chief Master Sergeant Rochelle Hemingway Participants will: • Learn about Chief Master Sergeant Rochelle Hemingway’s path to her current role at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota. • Discuss the importance of faith in God and choices in your career pursuits. • Consider the question: “What is your personal hashtag?” Workshop 3 “Goal-setting: Reaching for the Stars”  Surprise presenter from the Indiana Fever  Participants will: • Define short-term and long-term goals. • Discuss their future dreams and personal goals. • Identify what the steps could be to achieving these goals. • Consider the question: “What role does faith play in our goals?”  All events held at: Second Missionary Baptist Church  818 N. Apperson Way Kokomo, IN  (765)452-8214 Reverend Dr. William J.
