Description

Thompson-Boling Arena can consider itself one of the largest college sporting facilities in the United States. The multi-purpose arena is part of the sprawling University of Tennessee in Knoxville and opened in 1987. The venue is the home to the Tennessee Volunteers and the Lady Vols who represent the university in NCAA Division 1 basketball.

The venue can comfortably accommodate 21,678 fans; however, the men's basketball team crowd reached 25,610 during a game against their rival, Kentucky, in 1989. The venue was renovated in 2007 and was modernized. In addition to hosting the basketball teams, Thompson-Boling Arena has hosted WWE Monday Night RAW, Intercontinental Championship, and World Tag Team Championship amongst other events.
