IJAMS Citizen Science: Moth Week at IJAMS

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 8 AND UP Citizen Science programs at Ijams take ordinary people and turn them into field biologists netting, spotting, and collecting all manner of specimens. This month  we are exploring the nocturnal world of moths. With over 11,000 species, moths are among some of the most diverse insects and are truly beautiful when you take time to appreciate them. We will stay up late to attract, collect, and attempt to identify moths for a nationwide citizen science effort. This program will coincide with the other Moth Week Ijams is holding in Farragut. While it is not a competition per se, we will be counting how many species each site records. Let the games begin!  LOCATION The main plaza at Ijams' Visitor Center REGISTRATION Tickets are $5 for individuals or $10 for families. Family tickets cover up to 2 adults and 4 children under the age of 18. EVERYONE OVER THE AGE OF 2 MUST HAVE A TICKET. Registration ends on Thursday, July 18 at 5 p.m. Contact Jeremy Clothier at jclothier@ijams.org or call 865-577-4717 ext. 127 with any questions. CANCELLATION POLICY Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to severe weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees under $5 for any reason.
