      EVENT DETAILS
Richard Epstein for The Tullock Lecture Series - Regulating Hours and Wages in the Age of Uber

Join us for a lecture from one of the three most cited law professors in America, Richard Epstein. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a winner of the Bradley Prize, Prof. Epstein’s most recent book is, The Classical Liberal Constitution: The Uncertain Quest for Limited Government. In this Tullock Lecture, Prof. Epstein tackles the nature of 20th Century regulation – including minimum wage laws and rules governing overtime pay – in the 21st Century. Does the Share Economy, as pioneered by firms such as Uber and Lyft, change the rules? How can ”hours” or “overtime” be defined when apps govern transactions and workers are partners, not employees? Prof. Epstein offers his analysis. Refreshments from 5 pm - 5:30 pm with lecture to follow.
