Understanding Geological Processes Using Stable Isotobes

Dr. John Luczaj of UW-GB discusses how Earth Scientists use stable isotopes of different chemical elements (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, strontium, lead, sulfur, etc.) to understand geological processes. Examples of how stable isotopes are used will include deciphering Earth’s climate over millions of years using ice cores and fossils, interpreting the paleontology of Mammoths, and understanding hydrothermal ore deposits.
