      Acrylic Painting Essentials for Beginners

      Course overview Painting with acrylics will be demystified as you learn the fundamentals of oil painting in this 4 hour workshop. Students will be guided step-by-step through the process of planning and painting in acrylic paints and take home your own 11x14 finished paintings. Your instructor is a second generation artist, Jim Beaulaurier who was born in Great Falls, Montana. His father, Leo James Beaulaurier was also born in Great Falls, Montana, in 1912 and died on February 13, 1984. He was also a traditional Western painter, illustrator, and muralist. What to expect You will get a basic introduction to oil painting including: how to set up your work area and painting palette and paint surfaces how to mix colors how to apply acrylic paints and be introduced to paint mediums learning about composition learn how to begin and work through to a finished painting how to clean and care for your brushes Is this course right for me? No experience necessary. A perfect starting point for absolute beginners or artists used to working in other medium. A great class for senior high school visual art students. Materials Option #1: Included in the workshop fee is use of our acrylic paints, mediums, brushes and also canvas or canvas paper. Option #2: Download the supply list and receive a discount on your workshop fee Maximum of 6 students in all our classes. Our class sizes are small, ensuring you receive the individual instruction you need. Workshop starts at 10 am with a break at noon for lunch and restarts at 1 pm and finishing up around 3 pm
