      Join us for the 2019 North West New Mexico Local Food Summit, hosted by the Farmington Local Food Taskforce on August 8 & 9 at the Farmington Civic Center.   Local Food Summit AgendaFarmington Civic Center 200 W. We will have live music and an iron-chef like cook off from 6-7pm. Iron Chef-like Cook-off Live music Informational booths Makers Market Kids Activities Food Trucks  Friday, August 9th 2019 8am-12pm: Conference8am: Registration8:30: Keynote speaker "Community Supporting Agriculture" 9:30-10:30: Local Food Panel:  Production: Farmer representative Processing and distribution: Food Hub and Value Chain Consumption: Farm To Cafeteria Access: Shiprock Food Access Coalition Policy: Farm to Table NM Consumer:New Mexico Farmers Marketing Association 10:30-11:Bring panel together for questions, and then break out with panel members11-12 Re-write action plan 11:30-12: Lunch from the Chile Pod of locally sourced products 12pm-5pm: Farm Tour ($25)Participants will be bused through the farm tours and must be preregistered 12:30 leave Civic Center Farm 1: Elders Greenhouse and Gardens. Meet the Elders and learn their farm story. Take a walking tour of the farm operation. Farm 2: Kaufman Family Farm. A generational family farm in Bloomfield, tour the farm and meet the hardworking family that produces some of the best produce in town! Farm 3: Lavender on the San Juan River. Walk through the 4,000 lavender plants that the Kern family harvests to produce their products. Farm 4: Wines of the San Juan, take a walk through the vineyard and see where the wine production takes place.
