We live in a time of disruptive change. How to activate our capacity to lean into the emerging future may well be the most important leadership challenge of our time. How do you cultivate curiosity, compassion and courage in the face of prejudice, anger and fear? This course is an introduction to a method called Theory U, developed at MIT, for leading such change in business, government, and civil society contexts worldwide. u.lab will guide you in applying Theory U to an issue that matters to you. You will do so with fellow change makers locally and around the world. Join us as we co-pioneer new approaches to today’s most important social and environmental challenges. U.Lab is a free online course that will change how you listen and view the world. It brings in a wide range of tools such as live webinars, group coaching, journaling, mindfulness, prototyping new ideas and working in groups either online or in person. To sign up for the course for free visit the course page on edx https://www.edx.org/course/ulab-leading-from-the-emerging-future We will have a group meeting up at the hub to discuss the course, watch webinars and related films, do group coaching and more. If you would like to find out more pop in and have a chat with Jo or Sarah or have a look at the link below. The full U.Lab course runs from mid-September to mid-December 2019 with new course material released every fortnight and 4 live webinars. U.Lab and Theory U were developed by Otto Scharmer and a team at MIT to offer a different approach to change and disruption. Plenty of that around at the minute! http://www.ottoscharmer.com/programs/ulab This meeting will be to watch a webinar which will be shown live on the Thursday. We can then mutually decide how often to meet up during the course. This is likely to be Friday mornings but we can be flexible. If anyone would like to join us by Skype or zoom that can be arranged. This and all our business networking and training events are part of our Rural Business Project and supported by a grant from The Princes Countryside Fund.
