QSORT2019 International Conference on Quantum Imaging and Electron Beam Shaping

International Conference on Quantum Imaging and Electron Beam Shaping Dates: 02 -05 July 2019 Venue: Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light | Staudtstraße 2, 91058 Erlangen | Germany Conference webpage: http://www.qsort.eu/conference-2019-overview/ Programme Chairs Ady Arie, Tel Aviv University (Israel) | Rafal E. Dunin-Borkowski, Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany) | Vincenzo Grillo, CNR- NANO (Italy) | Peter Hommelhoff, Friedrich–Alexander University Erlangen–Nürnberg (Germany) |  Ebrahim Karimi, University of Ottawa (Canada) | Gerd Leuchs, Max Planck Institute (Germany) On July 02-05 2019 the  Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light will host the International Conference on Quantum Imaging and Electron Beam Shaping This conference is organized jointly by the partners of the projects Quantum Sorter – A new Measurement Paradigm in Electron Microscopy (H2020-FETOPEN) with the support of Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light and Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen and Institute Nanoscience CNR (CNR-NANO) The Q-SORT International Conference on Quantum Imaging and Electron Beam Shaping aims to gather experts from the fields of electron and laser beam shaping, free-space electron optics, and related sub-fields of quantum mechanics. Participants will present and share their latest discoveries and innovations. This meeting will be one of the first of its kind: it is thus uniquely positioned, since luminaries and pioneers from all the above research fields will be present. They will have the possibility to closely interact and exchange ideas for new, interdisciplinary collaborations. It will include space for product displays. There will be opportunities for networking and discussion, as well as an edit-a-thon, an interdisciplinary workshop and a webinar. Invited lectures will be delivered by: Javier Garcia Abajo,  Institut de Ciències Fotòniques (ICFO - Spain) Avraham Gover,  Tel Aviv University (Israel) Pieter Kruit, Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) Nahid Talebi, Max Planck Institute (Germany) Topics sought for the program include (but are not limited to): Light-electron interaction Electron phase plates and beam shaping Quantum imaging Low Dose methods and instruments Final/initial state resolved energy loss spectroscopy Quantum concepts in electron microscopy Ultrafast TEM-Time shaping The event will be constituted of selected top-level proposals. Demo and poster sessions will also be organized. The conference will bring together leading researchers from the fields of electron microscopy and quantum light optics, i.e. CNR-NANO, the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Technion, Tel-Aviv University, Thermo Fisher Scientific, The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen, University of Glasgow, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Maastricht University, University of Ottawa. Representatives from the European Commission, Wikimedia, and the creative industries will also be in attendance. Submissions are open through May 06, 2019. Submission Extended abstracts should be submitted onlinehere. Templates are available here:⤓ docx Kit⤓ LaTeX Kit Important Dates Deadlines: Midnight CEST (Central European Standard Time): * Submission of 1-3 page extended abstracts: 06 May 2019 * Response to authors: 14 May 2019 * Camera ready versions: 24 May 2019 Contact Point: Vincenzo Grillo, CNR-NANO (Italy), Vincenzo.grillo@cnr.it Local organisers: Ulrike Bauer-Buzzoni, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Erlangen (Germany), Anjali Puri, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Erlangen (Germany) Communication and Outreach: Raffaella Santucci-Winkler, QED F&S Productions (UK), raffaellasantucci@qedproductions.co.uk  Q-SORT has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No 766970 Q-SORT (H2020-FETOPEN-1-2016-2017)
