      Gender Sensitive & Safe Practice Workshop

      Cost: $260.00 per person Please note an invoice will be sent to you on confirmation of workshop (minimum number of attendees apply). Eligibility Categories: Gender Sensitive Principal Practice for all practitioners in clinical and community mental health services, AOD & NDIS service settings. Disciplines: Allied Health (Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, etc.), Case Managers (such as AMHS/NDIS), Consumer Consultants, Family and Carer Consultants, Medical Staff, Nurses, NDIA/NDIS Support Workers, Peer Support Workers and Other Mental Health Professionals. Those that are already accredited are also encouraged to attend, as ‘train the trainers’ are welcome to update their practice and skills. Workshop Details This full day workshop is designed to build  practitioners’ capacity for increased awareness of gender sensitive practice and to support the care that is sensitive to gender-related issues; guided by the minimum requirements of the  ‘Service guideline on gender sensitivity and safety: Promoting a holistic approach to wellbeing’.  Participants will come together to examine key principles and challenges associated with: The Importance of Gender Safe Practice Communication Skills, and Promoting Sexual Safety The workshop also provides an opportunity to network with colleagues utilising the shared language and understandings of gender sensitive and safe practice, as relevant to the workplace.  Catering Provided: Please note that light refreshments such as tea/coffee and biscuits, as well as lunch will be provided on the day.
