      Conference Objectives!

      Making Social and Economic Progress!

      It is absolutely necessary to ensure that a society progresses in all the major areas in order to ensure holistic development and economic progress. Lop-sided growth would always result in social imbalances and the same will probably lead to wide-gaps in the society.

      Egalitarian Society!

      In an egalitarian society, growth process indicates an orderly growth process which enables, people to realize their full potential and lead a happy life. Unfortunately, global economy is undergoing a lot of transformation and is facing many risks, as well. For instance, trade disputes among nations, growth in global temperature, self-serving attitude of nations and political tussles among nations have largely contributed to the current unpleasant scenario. Yet another interesting aspect to be noted here is that until now, many economists believe that the growth and maturity of a society should be measured using Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a key factor. Unfortunately, a growing body of literature, of late, has confirmed that GDP’s contribution to the growth of a nation contributes to the tune of 65% only while other important factors too make contributions in this regard. Social Progress and competitiveness have to be factored in to measure the growth of a nation, it is argued. Contribution to environmental progress should be also be carefully considered as a measure of growth, it has been stated.

      Two Important Factors of Growth!

      According to economists, the economic growth of a country is primary driven by two important factors: a) population growth and b) productivity growth. The population growth is such an important factor that it is the foundation to set the base for all economic activities. Individual’s desire and health care offered by a nation are critical, here. In the same manner, productivity growth helps an economy to achieve success through skillful execution of manufacturing/service activities and innovation. Individuals, of course, can play a key role in nation-building.

      Working population! A sine-quo-non!

      Of course, if a country has more of population in the productive age group, solid economic growth and wealth creation are quite possible, economists argue. In addition, working population help an economy to witness tremendous growth as they are part of both productivity and spending. Economists further articulate that countries that offer a conducive atmosphere would achieve excellent economic growth on account of the above factors.

      Against this backdrop, the upcoming conference in Venice will make an earnest attempt to achieve the following objectives:

      a) Discuss the primary forces/factors that fuel economic and social progress/growth of a country;

      b) Examine the emerging trends and developments in the fast-emerging global economic landscape;

      c) Provide an ideal platform for researchers, economists, bankers and practitioners to share their research and practical experiences in all the major issues highlighted as above in global economy; and

      d) Offer suitable solutions to ensure an orderly growth of the global economy and bring prosperity and sustainable economic development to the world, in the long-run.

      May we eagerly look forward to your participation at the upcoming conference, please? Of course, we assure you of a great academic, networking and tourism experience in the beautiful city of Venice-Italy.
