The Elk Rapids Boys Soccer Program, in conjunction with the Cherryland Youth Association will be running the 9th annual ER Kicks 3v3 Soccer Tournament.  The Elk Soccer Program is proud to offer this event as a great way to publicize, grow, and build the love of soccer.   Both Girls and Boys divisions offered for each age group.  Birth year determines bracket level for the teams of 4.  You may play up in age groups, but you may not play down unless cleared by ER Kicks.  ER Kicks does get final determination in bracket placement based on numbers of teams. To register, select the date, and click on "Order Now."  To guarantee your t-shirt size, you must be registered by July 12th.  You'll need each player's name, birth year, email, and tshirt size in order to register.   Please print this waiver and obtain signatures from each player (if over 18) or player's parent/guardian. Bring the completed form with you to registration on the day of the event.  Visit: ER Kicks Release&Waiver to view and print the waiver.   Please note that the "Protect My Purchase" option that appears at the end of registration is not offered through "ER Kicks" but through a third party, FanShield. Any claims made will be done directly with FanShield, not the event organizers.   Registration Information and Regulations Registration will close on Sunday, July 28th at 4:30pm. No late registrations will be accepted. No refunds will be issued for any reason after registration closes.  Registration fee is $100 + fees. A t-shirt is guaranteed for each player with any team registration received.   Rosters may include 3 or 4 players.  Players may appear on only 1 roster. Generally teams are split into male and female divisions. Co-ed teams will be scheduled in a male division (other than open coed). Teams will be placed in the division appropriate for the age of the oldest player.  Brackets include 2010/2011, 2008/2009, 2006/2007, 2004/2005, Current High School, Open, & Open Coed!    ER Kicks is not responsible for lost or stolen items. ER Kicks reserves the right to cap the number of registrations for any age division and the total number of registrants at any time. ER Kicks reserves the right to deny registration to any person/team previously displaying unsportmanlike conduct. This event is designed to be an enjoyable, family friendly fundraiser--help us achieve that goal!     Game Rules Game lengths are ten-minute halves. There are no timeouts. Whistle- one minute warning - game on - half time - game end. This is a double elimination tournament.  After two losses a team is eliminated.  However, the final match is the final.  Double elimination does not apply in the tournament final!  Example: a team that has not lost, and is in the finals does not get a rematch if they lose the finals contest. A half circle is marked in front of each goal to prevent players from guarding the goal. No touches on the ball are allowed in this area. If a ball comes to a rest in the arc, it is treated as out of bounds and rewarded with either a goal kick or a kick-in depending on which team touched it last. Players must report to the field at least ten minutes prior to game time. At the discretion of the referee a team will forfeit at game time if they are not present.  Players must provide proof of age upon request at any point when asked by a tournament official.  Substitutions may be made at any dead ball situation. Kick-off may be taken in any direction. If the ball is played backwards on to own half, the defense must give 5 seconds before they can pressure the ball. Off-sides rule is not enforced. No slide tackling allowed. Players must stay upright and on their feet. Players may slide to stop/intercept a ball. Penalty kicks may be awarded, if in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by an infraction. It is a direct kick taken from the half-line with no players between the kicker and the goal. After the kick, the offensive team cannot touch the ball again until the defensive team has touched it. In all dead-ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards from the ball.  The ball shall be kicked into play from the sidelines, instead of thrown in. All dead-ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are indirect with the exception of penalty kicks. Goal kicks may be taken from any point on the endline.  Play-off tiebreaker will consist of a five-minute overtime with golden goal. If no one scores a goal, one player from each team will be removed for another five minute overtime with golden goal. This procedure will continue until someone scores.   A goal may be scored only from a touch within a team’s offensive half of the field. Goals may not be scored on kick-ins.  A quick "rock, paper, scissors" determines who gets the ball first.  This is a fundraiser for the Elk Rapids High School Boy’s Soccer Program.  It is intended to be a fun competition.  Play hard, clean, and fair.  Ref/scorekeeper will settle disputes. No foul language.  Each field will have a person responsible for keeping score/referee. Their word is final. Players may not be added to rosters during the tournament.  Teams may not add players for injured or absent players. The final is the final!  In other words there will be no second game if a team has only lost once, the final IS the final game. No coaching from the sidelines will be allowed. Let the kids play! In the event that inclement weather occurs, games be delayed, shortened, or cancelled or the double elimination format may be changed to single elimination. Teams / Participants / and Attendees will be disqualified for any unsportsmanlike conditions at the discretion of tournament officials.
