      Where Will Our Food Come From?

      Many of us know what a sustainable food system would look like. It would be local, fueled by renewable energy, based on regenerative agriculture, and produce enough to keep communities healthy without egregious waste. Join us to discuss best practices, key leverage points, and individual actions that will help actualize sustainable food systems that can operate effectively and efficiently without fossil fuels. Dr. Jason Bradford, author of The Future is Rural, and our panel of esteemed leaders, thinkers, and activists will consider how rural, urban, and suburban communities would be impacted by adopting truly sustainable food systems and how each of us can help create them.

      Gail Taylor

      Gail Taylor is the owner/ operator of Three Part Harmony Farm. A long-time resident of the DC area, Taylor has worked as an organizer and social justice activist focusing on Latin America solidarity (internationally) and affordable housing issues (locally.) She has been farming organically since 2005. Three Part Harmony Farm is a project that was born out of a community-led visioning process that began in 2011. In 2015, she was featured as one of Fifty+ under 50: Innovative leaders transforming metro DC's food system. She is a member of the Seed Keeper's Collective, Ecohermanas, and co-founder of Community Farming Alliance.

      Jason Bradford

      is a co-founder of Farmland LP, a farmland management fund implementing organic and mixed crop and livestock systems, where he worked until early 2018. He is the Board President for Post Carbon Institute, sits on the Economic Development Advisory Board for Corvallis and Benton County, and serves as an advisor for the OregonFlora Project based at Oregon State University. Jason is the author of the popular report, The Future is Rural: Food System Adaptations to the Great Simplification.

      Reginaldo (Regi) Haslett-Marroquin

      Regi is the President and CEO of the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance, Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Regeneration Farms LLC. and Tree-Rangeā„¢ Chicken, and author of In the Shadow of Green Man: My Journey from Poverty and Hunger to Food Security and Hope. At the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance, his focus is on the development of multi-level strategies for building regenerative food and agriculture systems that deliver social, economic and ecological benefits. Regi is currently a board member with Conservation Corps of Minnesota and Iowa, founding and steering committee member of Regeneration International, and an Advisory Board member for the Savanna Institute. In August of 2018, Regi was awarded one of the prestigious lifetime Ashoka Fellowships for pioneering the work on Regenerative Poultry.
