Limited Commercial Landscape Management License (LCLM) November 12, 2019

The Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) pesticide applicator license is designed for landscape professionals who need to treat ornamental plant beds with Roundup and/or other caution label pesticides. It does NOT authorize treatment of turf nor application with power equipment or a sprayer with a tank larger than 5 gallons. The class offers 6 hours of training to prepare students to take the LCLM license exam at the end of the class. Students will participate in a variety of indoor classroom and outdoor demonstration activities including such topics as pesticide licensing laws and regulatory information, pesticide safety, pesticide labels, integrated pest management of ornamentals, recognizing and managing problematic insect pests, diseases, and weeds that infest the landscape, and sprayer and spreader calibration. These modules will be followed up by a brief review session and the exam. PLEASE NOTE: In order to take the test, you must obtain a voucher at: https://pesticideexam.ifas.ufl.edu/.  Click on “apply for exam”.  This will take you to where you will complete your information, pay the exam fee and register for the class. You can not take the exam without the voucher!  Please print and bring it to the class. The fee for the class is $50 per person and includes materials, morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch. It does NOT include the $150 licensing fee which is collected separately by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) when you obtain your voucher.   Please be advised that if you do not pass the exam, another application and $150.00 will be required to re-test, if you have already submitted an application.  Those who cannot pay by credit card and need to pay by check, must still complete registration through Eventbrite and SEPARATELY, submit a check made payable to the University of Florida at least 5 business days BEFORE the class. The address for Broward County Extension is 3245 College Ave. Davie, FL 33314.  If you have questions pertaining to registration and/or class fees, please contact Donna Torrey, Commercial Horticulture Program Assistant, at the UF-IFAS Broward County Extension office:  (954)756-8519, or donna.torrey@ufl.edu.                                               Agenda 8:00 - 8:30 am                       Registration                       8:30 - 9:00 am                       LCLM Procedures 9:00 - 9:50 am                      Pesticide Safety   9:50 – 10:00 am                    Break                                                10:00 - 10:50 am                   Weed Identification and Herbicides    10:50 – 11:00 am                  Break 11:00 am - 11:50 pm             Understanding the Pesticide Label    11:50 am - 12:40 pm             Utilizing IPM to Manage Insect and Disease Pests of Ornamentals 12:40 – 1:10 pm                    Lunch  1:10 - 2:00 pm                       Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) Laws & Regulations 2:00 – 2:50 pm                      Pesticide Calculations and Equipment Calibration 2:50 - 3:00 pm                       Break/Distribution of CEU’s   3:00 pm                                 Review  3:30 - 5:00 pm                       Exam
