The workshop is aimed to develop confidence when dealing with conflict within the workplace, with the additional focus on absence management.   Workshop overview: The overall aim is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and necessary tools to recognise conflict in its early stages, deal with it efficiently and effectively, alleviating tension and escalation. We will also cover absence management including the legal ramifications. We will explore discrimination, the protected characteristics and how to ensure your employees welfare is managed whilst ensuring you remain legally compliant.   The areas we will cover during the workshop are:   What conflict is within the workplace Mediation Dispute resolution Absence management An overview of discrimination Protected Characteristics   The workshop is highly interactive throughout using a mixture of practical exercises and group discussions. You will certainly have the opportunity to role play, in small groups we will use case studies which are based on real Employment Tribunal cases.   At the end of the workshop you will be armed with the confidence and knowledge to deal with conflict issues in an effective and appropriate manner as they arise. You will gain a solid overview having learnt how to identify conflict, how and when to deal with it, using the most appropriate methods and tools, following your company’s internal guidelines, best practice and the legal framework.   You will also gain an understanding of absence management, by understanding discrimination and gaining an insight into the protected characteristics. You will leave confident to make informed decisions in relation to your employees’ absence and how to apply these in line with your company’s internal guidelines whilst ensuring you remain legally compliant.   You will receive a certificate of attendance from your visit to the workshop.   The venue: The Blackburn Enterprise Centre Furthergate Blackburn BB1 3HQ   Arrival: From 9:15 onwards for a 9:45am start with a 4:15pm finish.   Refreshments, Teas, coffees and a light lunch will be provided.
