Providing Gender Inclusive Care - a workshop for birthworkers

Transgender and gender variant folks deserve competent, inclusive care during their prenatal, birthing, postpartum, and parenting transitions. In this workshop, we will discuss what it means to provide gender inclusive care to clients. In the first session, we will specifically focus on gender competency discussing transgender and gender diverse identities, biological sex, pronouns and inclusive language, and watch content from trans and gender variant persons as they discuss their experiences accessing adequate care. In the second session, we will start putting our lessons into practice. How can we support our clients? We will discuss client advocacy, resource compilation and sharing, and building inclusion into business practices. Participants will have space to reflect on their own businesses to see where their growing edges are. Pre-registration required! _________________________________ Logistics When & Where: This workshop will take place on Friday November 15 & 22, 2019 over two consecutive weeks.
