      Gran Torino

Gran Torino Roaring out of Knoxville, TN with all the force of a turbo-charged hot rod, the funk-imbued musical madmen known as Gran Torino leave a memorable mark on all who have the pleasure of seeing them perform. A stylish, rhythmically-enhanced, spirited groove machine, this ten member, horn-driven ensemble began cruising down the right road, with an ecstatically captured 1996 debut album, Live at the Chameleon Club. Gran Torino is a band brimming with energy, soaring with melody and completely full of funk. They are unquestionably a sure thing when it comes to live performances. Their blend of rock and soul has delighted crowds all over the country for decades. Gran Torino began work on their first studio album, One, in October 1997 and spent the final year of the century working hard on their second studio studio effort, the aptly titled Two. The band continued touring in support of all 3 records for the next two years, at which point they began working on their 3rd studio record, The One and Only Gran Torino which was released in the fall of 2002. Gran Torino reunited in 2014 after an 11 year hiatus. They are back on the road in Fall of 2019, stronger than ever, with several dates throughout the southeast.  The band features Johnny Mann on Guitar, Todd Overstreet on Bass, Scott Pederson on Trumpet, Whit Pfohl on Drums, Dave Heyer on Drums, Chris Ford on Lead Vocals, Dexter Murphy on Keys & Trombone, Pee Jay Alexander on Trumpet & Keys, and Jason Thompson on Sax, and John Pfohl on Percussion.
