Description
A mild climb to the Phelps Lake Overlook, then a steep downhill on switchbacks to the junction to the lake or continue on the Death Canyon Trail for the longer hike. The canyon hike features the cascading Death Canyon Creek, views of jagged peaks, on to the patrol cabin turnaround. Both hikes are out and back. Elev. gain is 1500 ft.
