Ice Hockey - Skating Lessons - Skill/Technique Development (WIN)

First Session Free!

Private or semi-private skating instruction focused on technique development - not physical endurance. Perfect for hockey players looking to improve agility and speed even during the regular season. All ages and abilities - even first-time skaters!

With such limited ice time, teams and coaches are pressured to move quickly from drill to drill trying to teach skills, hockey sense and strategy, while also incorporating conditioning. Unfortunately, skating fundamentals simply don't receive sufficient focus for skill mastery. With the popular and persistent practice of "overspeed" training to simulate game situations, poor or compensatory techniques can develop. Take your skating to the next level, make the team or learn the sport by focusing on proper technique!

During the regular season (October-March) I skate out of Redwood Falls, Marshall, Willmar, Windom, & New Ulm, MN. I travel up to 1-hour to a rink nearest the skater.

Rates: (if within 1 hour travel radius) individual - 0.5 hour sessions are $22.50, 2 or 3 person 0.5 hour sessions are $15/per skater. During the summer back-to-back sessions are typical because of travel. New skaters initially must commit to a minimum of 5 sessions, a total of six with the first being free.

About the instructor:
15 years as hockey player
4 years as a youth hockey coach - USA Hockey Certified
3 years as youth hockey referee - USA Hockey Certified
All instruction and techniques based on USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM)

I am an avid skater, coach and parent who enjoys the challenge and gratification of helping my own child develop as a skater. My goal is to help both youth and adults learn to skate properly and hopefully foster a love and passion for skating and/or hockey that lasts a lifetime.
