EarthSave Southeast NC Chapter November Meetup

Meet others who share your interest in healthy eating for a healthy planet. Our November Meetup will be a vegetarian, vegan, raw potluck. Please label your dishes so that we know what we are eating. September's potluck was well attended; over 20 people. Bethany Vaden provided us with a demo of her delicious vegan stuffed shells. You'd never know you weren't eating cheese! I neglected to email the reminder so our October meetup did not occur. Our November meetup will be a pre-Thanksgiving celebration for all you vegetarians who have to sit silently while the turkey is being carved on Thursday. Plan your dishes around Thanksgiving. Try a new vegan or raw dish such as 'tofurky,' lentil or nut roast, tempeh with mushroom gravy, stuffed squash, corn chowder or chestnut soup, mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin or pecan pie, and carrot cake. Gratitude, not turkey, is the reason for this holiday so I've asked JoAnne Likens to share with us some mindful eating ideas. The meetup will be dinner and perhaps some live music. So if you feel like you have too much to do the day before Thanksgiving to attend, stop, take a deep breath and come for an hour and enjoy the company of like minded individuals who truly understand the significance of Thanksgiving.
