Thursday, Dec. 3, 2 p.m. – Indiscreet (1958)
The love affair between two romance-wary sophisticates (Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman) founders when he is caught being less than truthful about his marital status. Norman Krasna wrote this romantic comedy directed by Stanley Donen, while Christian Dior designed Ms. Bergman’s couture gowns.

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2 p.m. – Jane Eyre (1944)
Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine star in this dark, atmospheric version of Charlotte Bronte’s gothic masterpiece. Although directed by Robert Stevenson, Welles’ behind the scenes influence on the production is apparent. Aldous Huxley and John Houseman wrote the screenplay.

Thursday, Dec. 17, 2 p.m. – Going My Way (1944)
A young priest who likes to sing (Bing Crosby) is brought in to assist old Father Fitzgibbon (Barry Fitzgerald) in reviving a troubled parish, but the two immediately clash. This genial charmer was directed by Leo McCarey and won seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Song, “Swinging on a Star.”

Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2 p.m. (Note the special day) – Oliver Twist (1948)
David Lean directed this superior version of Charles Dickens’ novel about a young boy in Victorian era London who falls in with thieves. The all-British cast includes Robert Newton, Kay Walsh, Anthony Newley and Alec Guinness, who makes a memorable Fagin.

Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1 p.m. – Gone With the Wind (Note the special day and time) (1939)
Producer David O. Selznick’s epic about the trials and tribulations of southern belle Scarlet O’Hara during the Civil War won eight Academy Awards and was nominated for six more. Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia De Havilland and Hattie McDaniel star under the direction of Victor Fleming.
