Description
Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body National Traveling Exhibition
May 31, 2010 - September 6, 2010Times: During open hours
http://www.exploration.org
Location: Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd., Wichita, Kansas
Phone: 316-660-0600
Admission: Included in museum admission
Based on the best-selling book Grossology, this science-in-disguise exhibition uses animatronics and imaginative interactives to tell you the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and more. Take a “Tour du Nose” to explore 10 nasal features, including how your sniffer acts as an air filter. Play the pinball game “Gas Attack” as you score off bumpers dressed up as food items that cause gas. Or mimic the build-up of acid indigestion when you cause the “Burp Machine” to release a giant belch. Crawl and slide through a 30-foot-long 3-D model of the digestive system, match body odors with the correct area of the body: arm pits, lower intestine, mouth or feet. And more!
