Take a journey back into the past with a visit with newlyweds Jane Robbins and Howard Dunham during their first Christmas together as a married couple in 1907. Tour this elegant Victorianized Georgian architectural gem decked for the holidays during the first two weekends of December. Enter into the main hall to admire the millwork draped with greenery, proceed to the Sitting Room to learn about the emergence of Christmas Cards, linger in the Dining Room as a Christmas Eve Dinner is set for close friends and of course join us in the parlors to view the 9 foot tall Victorian Christmas tree with real tinsel, handmade Victorian ornaments, presents, porcelain dolls and Christmas Crackers.
The Hurlbut-Dunham House will open for 1907 Newlywed Christmas on the weekends of December 1, 2, 8 & 9 from 1-4pm. Admission for tours is $5, free for members. For more information please visit www.wethhist.org or call 860.529.7656.
