Meagan Scarlet grew up in Falfurrias a small town in south Texas.

She aspired to be an actress and enjoyed performing for The University Of Texas Pan American theatre program.

Finding her niche in Musical theater, and in playing her auto harp she decided to venture to Austin ,TX to form her first band “The Scarlet Effect”

“The Scarlet Effect” has been a work in progress for about a year now. The band recorded their first EP in October 2011 at Pedernales studio. The renowned Texas studio is owned by music legend Willie Nelson where numerous artists such as Stevie Rey Vaughn, Rey Charles, Sublime, and even Frank Sinatra have recorded.

Soon after that, the blues-rock group booked many gigs locally and worked hard to line up performances for SXSW 2012.

This year Meagan’s Band was booked to play 7 showcases during the festival.

And through the management companies she booked with, The Scarlet Effect was sponsored by: Shure Microphones, Orange Amps, Taylor Guitars, Ernie Ball, Vitamin Water, Chase Bank, and many local Austin vendors.

There is an energetic theatrical presence in her performance as she lets the music move through her.

She believes that “The Story is told not only through the voice, but also through the eyes”

Playing at The House Of Blues in Hollywood with the house band is “One of the most surreal gigs yet!”

April 11th marks a very special day for Miss Scarlet as it will be her first performance in California, and The House Of Blues in Hollywood is a pretty exciting start for a small town Texas girl.

Have your music and stage show recognized during the LA Blues Revue March 14th at the one and only World Famous House of Blues in Hollywood. This evening will be dedicated to some of Southern California's top talent. Historic Blues, Soul, R&B, covers as well as originals in these genres are welcomed. All performers must be over 21 years old, we provide professional house band if you provide lead sheets.
