Coming from a family line of professional musicians, at an early age Dave Percell recognized that he also had a God given gift of music. At the age of 10, Dave began to play guitar and later learned the bass. Growing up listening to gospel, soul, pop, and rock influenced his initial style. Dave started to play for local Washington D.C. based gospel groups and studio recordings. In 1974, while in the studio a friend introduced Dave to Jazz Fusion. He started to listen to artist such as Allan Holdsworth, John Mclauphlin, and Return to Forever which included guitarist Al Di Meola. These influences greatly changed Dave’s style of playing.
