Frequently Asked Questions: What if I'm not very physically fit? Every exercise or drill can be modified in a way that makes it less strenuous. This enables us to work together as a group while still challenging each individual. Where is the location we will meet? West Harrison/White Plains classes are on Tuesday & Thursday at 6AM & Saturday at 7AM and meet at the West Harrison Athletic Field (1 Casarella Way). Bronxville classes begin at 6 AM, 10 AM, and 6:30 PM. We will meet at the Lower Boyscout Field (near the baseball field) located at 1820 Midland Avenue. All classes last one hour. What types of exercises are included in the program? We strive for total fitness, which demands the selection of many different types of exercise. For cardio conditioning, we run, skip rope (donÃÂ't worry if your not good at skipping rope, we have ways around that), and do a variety of footwork and callisthenic drills. For improved flexibility, we combine dynamic and static stretches as well as yoga, kickboxing, and other martial arts drills. To develop strength and power, a mixture of bodyweight and partner-assisted exercises, along with resistance bands and some dumbbell work are used. In addition, you can expect plenty of core conditioning, circuit-style training, obstacle courses and more. You will never see the same exact workout twice. What do I need to bring? An exercise mat, one set of small hand weights (2 to 8 lbs.), A water bottle, running shoes, and a positive attitude. You can conveniently purchase any of the aforementioned equipment from our online store or, if you prefer, from local department stores such as Target, Wal-Mart, or Sports Authority. What can you hope to achieve from camp? Every individual responds differently according to the effort they put forth and their individual make-up. We think effort makes the biggest difference. Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway. Few individuals ever reach the limits of human potential. We believe in you. The greater your dedication and commitment the greater your results. The more closely you follow the strategies we develop for you based on your personal assessment the more body fat you will lose and the more firm your legs, buttocks, and overall body will become. You will get stronger. You will be more confident. You will gain muscle if you choose. You will look and feel the best you have in years. Why should you participate? We truly believe your health is your greatest asset. Without it, it is much more difficult to enjoy or cope with the many things that confront us in life. The investment in your well-being will pay dividends for years to come and yield a host of new friends who share and support your passion to be the best you can be. What is my investment? The investment per class is $17.50 if you come five days per week. We offer two and three day memberships at a slightly higher per class rate. These prices are just a fraction of the typical hourly fees charged by most personal trainers in the region ($40-$150). When does the assessment take place? The process of clearly identifying your goals and establishing the specific strategies necessary to ensure your personal success begins when you complete our online Par-Q. When we actually meet you we prefer, but do not require, that you allow us to take a few basic measurements (weight, height, bodyfat percentage) for the purpose of evaluating your progress as time passes. If you are interested in additional services such as nutrition consultations, meal planning, or personal training we will need some additional information from you prior to being able to offer you those services. Will I be sore sometimes? You may be sore for the first few days, but your body will adapt after that point provided you attend classes on a consistent basis. What kinds of people attend camp? All kinds of people. Our programs are designed to challenge and inspire individuals of varying ability and exercise experience. What is a typical day like at camp? Never a dull moment with Vonster on the scene. Each day presents new challenges intended to keep things fresh and suited to your ever improving levels of fitness. You can count on a little running, dumbell and resistance band training, obstacle courses, and lots of core training each week. Our top notch trainers will keep a watchful eye on your form to insure you safely get the best results possible from your workout. When will I see results? You will begin to feel better immediately. The first change most people notice is how their clothes fit. It is not unusual for people to lose one to two pounds per week. We do not encourage people to lose more than this amount on a weekly basis because an excessive amount of lean metabolism driving muscle is lost. This loss of lean muscle tends to encourage weight gain later on.
