The West Des Moines Community Center is open M - F 8am - 8pm, Sat 8am - 5pm, Sun Noon - 5pm closed holidays. Ask for the walk box at the information desk near the 5th street door. The walk is on city sidewalks in shady residential areas. You begin and end the walk in the historic Valley Junction area of West Des Moines. A few of the sights you'll see along the trail are an historic ballroom, a Sikh Temple, and a train caboose
