Walking Event: Herbert Hoover Presidential Walk

Daily 7-7 and must be off the trail by sundown. Closed Christmas. The trail winds through the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, passing the Presidential Library-Museum, President Hoover's birthplace, the Hoover gravesite, a working replica of President Hoover's father's blacksmith shop, a restored Quaker Meetinghouse and a one -room schoolhouse. It proceeds through the town of West Branch, passing many Victorian homes and commercial buildings (16 of which are in the National Register) and then follows a hard surface rail/trail. It also includes a prairie grass nature trail. In case of snow, use caution. Snow is not removed from section of trail to accommodate cross country skiers. Parts of the walk are up moderately steep hills. Patches and other souvenirs are available at the Herbert Hoover Visitor Center.
