Great place for foodies. You MUST go to Market Lunch for breakfast. Pancakes to die for! They have some of the best jewelry merchants in the Metro area.
Description
The Eastern Market is strategically located at 225 7th Street, Southeast, Washington, DC. It is 7 blocks west of the Capitol, 1 block north of the Eastern Market MetroRail Station and Pennsylvania Avenue in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Some 32,500 people live in the area commonly referred to as Capitol Hill - that is, the neighborhoods bounded by North and South Capitol streets on the west, 15th Street on the east, H Street on the north and by the Southeast-Southwest Freeway.

This neighborhood of tree-lined streets of town houses is largely populated by working adults, singles and families with young children.

This is an old-fashioned city neighborhood, where residents often do their shopping on a daily basis, stopping at the neighborhood's bakeries and small grocery stores on their way home from work.

For the residents of Capitol Hill the weekend often means a trip to Eastern Market for fresh fruit and vegetables.

The venue at Eastern Market includes:

* South Hall: local merchants offering everything from fresh produce and flowers, to delicatessen, bakery, meat, poultry, cheese and dairy products. There is also the delicious Market Lunch - renowned for its crab cakes and blueberry pancakes. * North Hall: an arts and community center. * Weekend Farmer's Market: Open-air, fresh local produce year round.
