Walking Event: Iwo Jima YRE

Cross the Potomac River twice, circle Kennedy Center, visit Arlington Memorial Cemetery and the Iwo Jima Monument, and explore Theodore Roosevelt Island. You can do some or all of these on this walk, which will visit Kennedy Center, use Memorial Bridge to cross into Virginia, explore part of the Arlington National Cemetery and visit the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial Monument, pass through Rosslyn, and return to DC by crossing the TR Bridge. The 5-KM option is fairly flat and rated 1+. The 10-KM option is rated 2 because of moderate hills. The 12-KM option includes a loop around TR Island and is rated 2+ because of moderate hills and some natural-surface paths. Wheelchairs will have some difficulty on longer distances; larger-wheeled strollers should be usable on all segments.
