Lars Brownworth explores the historical flaws and foreign policy errors of the West resulting from a fundamental and long-standing misreading of the Eastern world that was deeply and profoundly shaped by the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) empireâs thousand-year reign. Brownworth also examines the lessons of Byzantium that Western powers and institutions can draw upon today to more effectively engage âthe Eastâ and achieve regional and global diplomatic objectives.
Lars Brownworth, author and creator of "12 Byzantine Rulers" podcast. His newest book "Lost to the West: The Forgotten Byzantine Empire That Rescued Western Civilization" will be available for purchase.
