Ricardo DEEJAYING 101: The Art of the Deejay If you've been craving to be the one who rocks the party as the DJ, then sign up for the National Music Center's new Deejaying 101 course. INTENTION: A 5-week course focused on the basics of deejaying including history, genres, technique, equipment setup, and promotion/marketing. This course is for the beginner who has none or very little knowledge of the art form. History & genres of music Basic music theory Equipment set-up Beat-matching Blending Phrasing Basic promotion/marketing COURSE AVAILABILITY (beginning early April 2008): Mondays 6:30-8:30pm, Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm or Saturdays 1:00-3:00pm or 3:30-5:30pm Equipment Requirements: None Class Size: 5 students max Course Length: 5 two-hour classes in 5 consecutive weeks Practice Time: Unlimited.
