Description
Hello Folks, Join us for a special 2-day motorcycle Basic RiderCourse (BRC) which provides the basic entry-level skills for a new rider to begin practicing and developing skills that are needed for street operation. This course is usually a 2 1/2 day course that can range up to $375.00. While in Richmond, we have a great program at $195.00 and only 2 days!!. We'll also plan some other cool stuff while in town! This course takes the beginning rider through the basics of motorcycle operation, effective braking, turning skills and obstacle avoidance, as well as safe riding strategies. The course consists of 5 hours of classroom instruction and several hours of actual hands on training. Upon successful completion of the couse, a MSF completion card & a Virginia DMV Completion Certificate/30 day temporary motorcycle license waiver are issued. The Virginia DMV Completion Certificate will waive BOTH the knowledge & skills test at any Va. DMV for one year from the date issued. It will also grant the student (19 years of age or older) a 30 day temporary class "M" license to drive a motorcycle from the date of completion. The Virginia DMV Completion Certificate (waiver) will be good for one year for the purpose of waiving the knowledge and skills test as well as the 30 day motorcycle learner's permit holding period. (This portion requires a VA license and other states do not accept the VA waiver or MSF card. -- we will try to set up a MD program soon) You do not need a learner's permit or motorcycle drivers license to take the Basic RiderCourse. DATE: October 11-12, 2008. (We'll be camping out Saturday night if you want to join in) TIME: 9:00-6:30pm. MUST BE ON TIME!! PRICE: $195.00, (includes class cost, registration fees, motorcycle and helmet) You MUST be physically able to balance a motorcycle and operate the levers. (classroom) the entire class is together. Bring a pen, pencil and highlighter to class on day 1. (driving range) There are ONLY a maximum of 12 students with two Rider Coaches on any one range at any given time. No personal motorcycles will be used for Jump Start. NOW TO THE IMPORTANT PART: WHAT TO WEAR! 1. EYE PROTECTION. (bring sunglasses/glasses) 2. OVER-THE-ANKLE FOOTWEAR: a pair of boots that cover the ankle and protect the feet (with little or no heel and no cloth or canvas). 3. A LONG SLEEVE jacket or long sleeve shirt and long pants of denim or other material of equivalent durability. 4. A PAIR OF FULL FINGERED GLOVES of leather or other material with resistance to abrasion. 5. HELMETS WILL BE PROVIDED: However, if you have a personal helmet you would like to bring it must be a full or 3/4 face DOT approved helmets are allowed, no half shell helmets permitted. (Bring bandanna or something to cover your hair under the helmet. Remember a lot of others have worn these helmets). PAID: (ONLY 12 SPOTS) 1. Chase (Organizer) 2. Vanessa (Organizer II) 3. Keith Z. 4. Alfred G. 5. William W. 6. Bruce G. 7. Gudrun H 8. Kay B. (dep/Jumpstart & final) 9. Michael B. 10. Bryson B. 11. 12. Make sure to book your spot early -- to ensure you have a spot! CAMPING: We are going to be camping at Pocahontas State Park for Saturday night which is a really nice state park about 3 miles from our training site. It also has great hiking, bike trails, and HOT SHOWERS. I am looking at booking a group camping spot. More details to come. Approximate price for camping is $16-23/per tent. CARPOOL: Since this course is in Richmond, we plan on carpooling so check the board for updates or put up where you are carpooling from and how many spots you have. If you need a ride - please post. WEATHER: Like any motorcycle course -- ride in the rain and pause for lightening. So if the weather looks a litte rough make sure to bring appropriate attire. Happy Riding, Vanessa REFUNDS: Please see Refund Policy I if we can fill your spot.
